Built in 1888 as a hunting lodge for the Austrian imperial family, the Grand Hotel Fasano is a testament to history, art and culture. Expanded in 1903 in response to demand from Northern Europeans, the Grand Hotel became a fashionable rendezvous for the aristocracy of the early 20th Century.
After the looting and devastation of the two world wars, in 1948 the Grand Hotel Fasano was restored and brought back to its original splendour, with greater capacity and promotion to a 5 star luxury Grand Hotel. Wonderfully set between mountains, lake and sky, it was recognized as a National Heritage Site of Italy in 1989.
